Gradings

Kids Grades

Junior grades are the best way for children to improve and excel as the grading system presents an achievable goal with each grade as well as greatly improving each childs confidence and most importantly their ability as a martial artist. Kids and juniors receive at every grade a gold medal on a ribbon, a diploma and a score sheet showing how well they have done and also some pointers on technique they can improve on for next time. Press releases are also done as a follow up to grades which gives every child the chance of stardom in the local newspapers. (any photography of any child requires parental consent)

The 'Kids Beat the Bullies' classes offers Junior Muay Thai grading practice during each class, most of our classes for kids and juniors are taught by two instructors so each individual will learn more quicker.

 We have a separate grading syllabus for our junior students to allow them to continue to advance in Junior Muay Thai / Kids Beat the Bullies classes. Grades for kids are for 5-13 year olds and they can achieve the highest grade in junior Muay Thai - Junior 1^st Degree Red armband (equal to Junior Black belt).

There are six junior grades which presents an achievable challenge for all juniors no matter what ability level they are at, we promote a non elitist environment.  All grades are conducted in a friendly and relaxed atmosphere with Alan Currie at the Wossobama Gym so that the kids are relaxed, entertained and able to show there skills without being too nervous. Once they achieve the prestigious level of 'Junior Red' they can move on and aim for senior grades and may be awarded a Junior Instructorship.

Adults Grades

There are 15 adult grades, the first five being student level after which senior student level is attained by Brown grade, with the tenth grade being the prestigious 1^st Degree Red armband (equal to 1^st Dan black belt). After the Red armband 1^st degree, an instructorship may be awarded and / or adults move onto 2^nd , 3^rd, 4^th and the top grade in Muay Thai 5^th Degree RED / SILVER armband.

Grades are the best way to improve technically as a martial artist as every grade presents a new and exciting challenge with new techniques to learn and excel at. Grades also present a great sense of achievement and all adults receive at every grade a gold medal on a ribbon, a diploma and a score sheet showing how well they have with some pointers on technique they can improve on for next time.
